Midwest Collie Club is a local breed specialty club active in Southeast Michigan. Our mission is promoting fine Collies. MWCC was founded in 1930 by knowledgeable Detroit-area Collie owners, breeders, exhibitors, mentors and other fanciers, as well as AKC-licensed judges and professional handlers. Soon afterward, the club was recognized by the American Kennel Club. Today, MWCC members demonstrate their commitment to the Collie breed by working in the present and planning for the future, while remaining dedicated to the purposes and traditions initiated by our club founders. |

There are many opportunities for Collies to make contributions to families and communities. For example, after passing required tests and certifications including AKC Canine Good Citizen testing, Collies may be eligible to make helpful therapy-dog or service-dog visits to organizations and institutions serving a wide range of people - from the very young to the elderly. Pictured l-r are "Shep", Air Lord Shepherd of Sundell CGC, CSD, Cancer Detection Dog and "Coffee", Overland Lord Ice Coffee of Sundell, SD in TR, owned by MWCC member Carol Sundell. Shep is a certified service dog and young Coffee now is working on his certifications.

MWCC promotes fine Collies based on the Collie Club of America breed standard, as approved by the AKC. Members advance our club mission through events, education and example. MWCC conformation and performance events consistently attract nationally-prominent judging panels and solid entries of fine Collies. Other MWCC activities include related educational, charitable and social events complementary to our club mission.
